The Battle of Bì Chinese: 邲之戰; pinyin: Bì zhī Zhàn (邲之戰) was fought in 595 BC, between the states of Chǔ and Jìn.
For several days before the actual battle, the two states' armies faced each other with charioteers skirmishing back and forth until Jìn chariots came out to rescue two of their skirmish units and the Chǔ forces charged them. The Chǔ began to advance on the Jìn flanks, pushing back the Jìn with forty Chǔ chariots the left flank. The Jìn then made a general withdrawal and the Chǔ were victorious.
